Construction Fundamentals Program
Overview
We offer a Government-funded Construction Fundamentals Program for Albertans who want to build a career in the construction industry. Construction workers are in high demand across Alberta — whether working on residential builds, commercial developments, or industrial projects.
This program helps you gain the certifications, job readiness, and industry support you need to secure full-time employment in construction. Construction sites need skilled workers with safety training, equipment knowledge, and strong work habits - and that is exactly what we prepare you for.
You’ll have the opportunity to complete essential certifications such as First Aid, CSTS, Forklift, Ground Disturbance, and others based on your individual needs. You may also take part in unpaid work experience placements, giving you the chance to apply your skills on real worksites and connect directly with potential employers.
In addition, you’ll build job search skills and receive one-on-one employment support to help you confidently navigate the construction job market and get hired.
To qualify for this program, you must be unemployed or underemployed and an Alberta resident.
Training is funded in partnership with the Government of Canada and the Province of Alberta for eligible individuals! It is particularly well-suited for individuals who are currently receving Employment Incurace (EI) or may be eligible for it.
Certificates and training credentials will be granted upon successful completion of each component of the program.
Start building your future in an industry that builds Alberta!
