Nail Technician

General Information

This 30-hour certificate program will be of interest to those individuals seeking employment within the beauty industry, for a home-based business, or for those who have a general interest in this field for personal use. Students will gain skills, knowledge and hands-on experience in Nail Technology theory and manicure procedures. The last class will consist of a final exam in both theory and practical applications. Students will be issued certificates upon successful completion of the exam.

  • Orientation, professional image, supplies, bacteriology and sanitation
  • Anatomy, physiology, diseases and disorders of the nail, disorders of skin
  • Product chemistry, safety, massage techniques, client consultations
  • Table set-up, manicure procedures, polishing
  • Tips, fitting, application, blending
  • Nail enhancement techniques (student choice of Gel or Acrylic)

Estimated Costs

Tuition: $450.00
Gel Nail Kit (includes UV lamp): $350.00 or Acrylic Kit: $125.00
Tip Cutters: $20.00

 * Tuition is reduced to $ 350.00 for students who register in the Nail Technology program a second time. Students who are interested in learning both techniques must register independently for each class.

The instructor will discuss any additional supplies that learners may wish to purchase (such as extra tips). Beginning the second week of classes, students will also be required to bring in a model for the practical application of the course

A non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 must accompany registration to guarantee enrolment. The registration fee will be deducted from the program tuition costs. Students will be required to pay tuition one week before the course start date (during office hours). Nail enhancement kits must be paid the day after orders have been placed. Payment can be made through certified cheque, Visa, Master Card.

Certification

Training Inc. will issue certificates upon completion and graduation of the program. Minimum passing grade of 65% is required.
