Computers in the Workplace

“Computers in the Workplace” is a licensed program that provides skill-specific training in the use of computers for office applications. This program prepares you to find employment as an office professional. Programs are up-to-date so you can stay current with the latest software. A certificate is issued upon successful completion of this program.
Course schedule
- Self-paced lab with full-time Instructor
- Expected attendance: 6 hours per day for 14 weeks
- Lab hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (closed statutory holidays)
Course Outline – 9 modules
- Operating System: Windows XP
- Word Processing: Microsoft Word (2007), Level 1 and Level 2
- Spreadsheets: Microsoft Excel (2007), Level 1 and Level 2
- Database: Microsoft Access (2007), Level 1
- Computerized Accounting: Your choice between – QuickBooks or Simply Accounting
- Your choice of 2 options: Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft PowerPoint (2007), Microsoft Outlook (2007), or an additional Level in one of the core courses
- Weekly job search and résumé writing workshops
- Keyboarding
